Although to many the fuss is all about loosing the excess fresh, a few others wish they could grow a little fuller.

We are all human but I tell you even though our body features are referred to similarly, they do look different.

When someone is having insomnia over failed efforts to have their body trim, another person is going through the same over trying to gain weight in vain.

Many things do make us loose weight abruptly to a point of damaging our self image such as stress and anxiety, diseases, anorexia, extreme mental strain associated with our daily jobs among others.

Aged people may become skinny because of the continuing loss of taste and smell, or the incapacity to prepare healthy meals, results in becoming too lean.

In parts of some third world countries especially in Africa, hunger is a welcome norm of life and sights of emaciated children and adults are common.

If one is naturally slim, they should accept this and discard the plans of looking any different but only aim at being healthy.

Implications of being underweight

Being slim and healthy is okay but not being underweight. From wherever I live, extremely thin people are speculated to have HIV infection which may not be true.

Though doctors say that being overweight may result to heart disorders, the same result to being underweight and even cancer.

Others note that for those aged skinny women, problems of osteoporosis and hip fractures may result while their male counterparts may fail to perform sexually.

Although the strategies of gaining weight might be the same, it is very important for the victims to start by understanding what caused their problem if they are not naturally this way.

They may need to see the doctor to have their diseases treated if this is the cause, understand that refusing to eat (anorexia) is never a safe method of loosing weight and so on.

What should one eat to gain weight?

Say no to sweet and greasy foods, there are healthy foods to help you increase your calorie consumption to gain weight.

These junks are said to contain saturated fats that are not healthy to you. The best for peoples like you are the omega-3 vital fatty acids whose sources include the fish like the salmon, tuna and flax among others.

The point is balanced diet made of proteins like lean meats, nuts, seeds and legumes and fit carbohydrates and vitamins including fruits, vegetables and whole grains.

Supplements used to gain weight

To some underweight people, high quality multivitamin and mineral supplements is the way forward, while others consider protein ones to increase their muscle mass.

These contain amino acids like creatine and glutamine. The sickly people may need liquid prepared supplements by their physicians.

Exercise persist

Though ones goal here is to gain weight, choosing the right exercises could help one achieve this like lifting weights.

All one needs is a gym expert or buy the right equipment to work out at home. Some strenuous exercises like walking briskly or running will burn your fat more and thus end up thinner.
